Google Maps For Traffic Information 

Google rolled out its new update of providing traffic information to 12 more Indian cities. Now, commuters and drivers can retrieve traffic information of all the national highways and expressways through both mobile and desktops. 

The new cities added in a row are inclusive of Kolkata, Thiruvananthapuram, Bhopal, Coimbatore, Lucknow, Surat, Indore, Ludhiana, Visakhapatnam, Nagpur, Kochi, and Madurai.

Commuters will get information about real-time traffic conditions in different traffic layers. In the map, the routes are displayed in different colors. 

For example, red color routes for heavy traffic, orange for medium level traffic and green with smooth traffic. 

As per Suren Ruhela (Director, Program Management at Google) the Google search engine is constantly working on making the maps more comprehensive and hopes that this new real-time traffic information for 12 cities will help the drivers in finding the best routes to their destinations with fewer delays.

In navigation mode, these maps will use this real-time information to estimate the accurate time (estimate) as well.
